Dick was one of the nicest guys that we knew. He always had a smile and was interested in other people that made him such a wonderful person to talk with. He and Nancy are the ones responsible for our moving to The Villages. They were wonderful hosts and always made friends welcome in their beautiful homes-both in Grand Haven and the Villages. He dearly loved his family and was proud of each member. Dick was a role model for all of us, especially for anyone entering the education profession. He will be missed by all.

My heart goes out to Nancy and the family of Dick. He was a special person, so friendly, kind and considerate. I enjoyed planning Dick and Nancy's vacations during my time with AAA as well as while I was woking from my home in travel. They were so much fun to talk to and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing about their loving life together. I always remember those times, when I look at my needlework piece that Dick made me - "It's 5 o'clock somewhere". May the good memories and good times overcome the sadness.

We were very sorry to hear of Dick's passing. It was Dick that initially hired Don for his first teaching position at Lyons-Muir, and then again for the Bridgeport-Spaulding School District. We will be forever grateful for the opportunities provided for us by Dick as the Assistant Superintendent at Bridgeport-Spaulding. Our sincere sympathy is extended to Nancy and her family. May God continue to bless all of you at this difficult time.

My heart goes out to my dear Aunt Nancy and all of my Smith cousins at this very sad time. I will always remember Uncle Dick as someone who loved people, family and friends. He was the consummate host whenever our family paid a visit to Bridgeport, always joking and kidding around. I have so many good memories of family times with all of the Smith clan and I know how much you will all miss him. Love to you all, Jill
