Scott Klaassen was born and raised in Grand Haven, attended Grand Haven Christian School and graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1982. He attended Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City, and received his Mortuary Science degree from the College of Boca Raton, Florida in 1986.
Scott attends Hope Reformed Church in Grand Haven and has two daughters; Ashley who is attending college & Hanna, who attends Western Michigan Christian High School in Muskegon. Both girls graduated from Grand Haven Christian, and are involved in church and school activities.
Scott is very active in the Tri-Cities community through many volunteer efforts. He currently holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors for the 2016-2017 Coast Guard Festival and has volunteered with the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival for more than 30 years. The annual festival draws hundreds of thousands of people to the Tri-Cities each summer. He also serves on the Salvation Army's Capital Campaign Cabinet and has volunteered for the Worship on the Waterfront, Habitat for Humanity, Love in Action, and the Mulligan's Hollow Ski Bowl expansion, Winter Fest, and the Jingle Bell Parade. He is a past member of the former Grand Haven Area Jaycees, The Ottawa Co. United Way, and the Grand Haven Christian School Board. Scott also holds a Real Estate License in the State of Michigan with Coldwell Banker Woodland Schmidt.
Scott , Kathy, and the girls enjoy traveling, boating, camping, sunsets at the beach, walking on the Boardwalk, and snow skiing.
Scott considers it and honor and a privilege to help guide families through the process of planning a funeral, celebration of life, or cremation of a loved one.
