Mary Ann (Alpers) Hansen

Mary Ann Hansen, age 63 of Grand Haven passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Heartwood Lodge in Spring Lake Township. Mary was born March 5, 1952 to Fredrick and Frances (Styf) Alpers in Muskegon. Mary worked for Lowes for 19 years in Holland as a cashier, commercial sales associate and plumbing specialist. She enjoyed knitting, spending time with her dogs and her family, and would do anything for her family. Mary also liked going downtown every year during Coast Guard Festival to take in the all activities during the week. She especially like going to the beach to watch the sunset.  Mary will be remembered by her children; daughter, Heather Hansen; son, Jeff (Mindy) Hansen both of Grand Haven, two grandchildren, Martin and Fenna; sisters, Marge Drooger of Holland; Becky Hansen of Spring Lake, Carla Hanis of Muskegon. Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Alpers and her niece Pattilou Alpers.  The funeral service for Mary will be at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2:00 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given in Mary’s name to the Mary A.
