From an "old" friend and Dillingham neighbor. We will always remember the great times we had, and the parties, plus the Dillingham Dillies, and our Secret Pal Club.
To many tales to tell here. Joan, and her unique personality will never be forgotten.
How she kept her special 'New England' dialect, with all of our Mid-Western twang
I will never figure out.
We loved her and tried to stay in touch as much as possible.
Loads of love.....Sigrid and Gene

Dear Heather, Holly & Helesia:
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you and your family in the passing of your mom. I truly enjoyed getting to know Joan and helping her at Stoneybrook of American House. She was a very sweet lady with a big heart, who loved her family very much. I know her family gave her great joy. I will always remember our talks, which always ended in a hug. I will miss Joan very much and she will always have a special place in my heart. RIP Sweet Joan.
Love & Hugs,
Sharon Kieft

Dear cousins and family of Joan, please accept my sincerest condolences in the recent loss of your mother. Over the years, when visiting Aunt Jessie and Uncle Verner in Lowell, MA, I had the opportunity to meet and get to know Joan.
The last time I saw Joan, I believe , was at the very special Murphy Reunion in Connecticut in 2001.What fun and what a rare occasion to meet cousins and others whom we rarely, if ever see.
My lasting memory of Joan will be one of gratitude for her selfless caring for others, especially when facing challenges. Joan sent me an encouraging greeting card every week for months in 1995 -'96 when I was recuperating from a bad motor vehicle accident. I will never forget her ongoing act of caring and support.
Please know my thoughts are with you all at this time of significant loss.
Cheryl M.G. Robertson, youngest daughter of Helen ( Murphy) and Leonard C. Robertson.

Although I never met Joan, I felt like I knew her through her daughters, wonderful women full of character and spirit. May she rest in deep peace. May her family find that same peace in memories.
