Chuck was very kind to us. When I was discharged from the U. S. Navy in 1955 he called me in Memphis, TN and offered me a job in Grand Haven at the lumber yard. We moved and I began working for Chuck and Louie immediately. We had a great relationship along with others at the lumberyard. Being a Navy veteran, he told me some very interesting stories as a barber and his formula for hair shampoo while in the Navy. Chuck and family, thank you for your service to this great country.
For God and Country, Norm and Clara.

We pastored The Salvation Army from 1973-1978 when Chuck helped us build the new building on Despelder. What a wonderful man of God and mentor! He taught us so much as young pastors and parents. His passion for excellence and for world missions is something we will always remember. There is great rejoicing in heaven even though our hearts our sad. Well done, Chuck, you good and faithful servant!

There's not enough words to describe the love I have in my heart for this man. I am beyond blessed to have known Chuck. He by far is one of the sweetest, most giving, caring people I have known. I will miss our talks, hugs, and kisses on my cheek but most of all that contagious smile of yours. You would always tell everyone I was "one of the best of the best", well you will always be the best of the best! Rest in peace my friend. ❤

Mr. "R" was something special and always treated us like family when we would see him in Meijer & around town. He always wanted to be sure sure we got our "gold" that day by handing out a couple of Werther's candies to each of us. A great innovator and always a sharp mind for business. Our condolences to CRIII, Becky and the entire Rycenga family.
