Richard Allen Bolton, age 70 of Spring Lake passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Battle Creek VA. Rich was born March 13, 1946 to Harold and Winnifred (Weavers) Bolton in Grand Haven. After graduating from Grand Haven High School in 1966, he joined the U.S. Navy. Rich married Sharon Bernia on August 25, 1979 in Grand Haven. Using his great talents with furniture repair and refinishing, he worked at Story and Clark Pianos, Baker Furniture, Ethan Allen and Art Van. Rich was a member of Ducks Unlimited, The Rod and Gun Club, The NRA and a former member of the Grand Haven Eagles 925.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.  Rich especially loved to watch sports and support his kids and grandkids in all their activities. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Sharon; daughter, Dasha Bolton of Ferrysburg; son, Derek (Lindsay) Bolton of Norton Shores; grandchildren, Braxtyn, Millie, Dirk, Amari, Rakiah and Zarah Bolton; sisters, Nancy Reume of Grand Haven, Sandy Shotwell of Nunica; sisters-in-law, Teresa (Dennis) Cuti, Debra Bolton, Pat Bernia; brothers-in-law, Ernie (JoAnn) Bernia, Larry Kieft; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Brent, sister, Linda Kieft and brother, Wayne Bolton. The funeral service for Rich will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home with Jack Schoolcraft officiating. Visitation will take place from 5 – 8 pm on Monday, September 26, 2016 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Dementia Society of America.
