Justin Douglas VanHolstyn, age 29 of Grand Haven passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017. Justin was born August 7, 1987 to Douglas and Christine (Chandler) VanHolstyn in Grand Haven. As a youth Justin played football with the Tri-Cities Mariner League. Following graduation from Grand Haven High School Justin worked for Imperial Design and later for Automatic Springs. He enjoyed fishing and many other activities that allowed him to be part of the great outdoors. Justin was a fan of NASCAR and a craftsman of many talents and traits. Justin is survived by his mother, Christine Chandler of Robinson Township; father, Douglas VanHolstyn of LaPorte, IN; grandparents, Wallace Chandler of Grand Haven, Manna McGrew of Spring Lake; sisters, Rachelle (Steve Pfeiffer) VanHolstyn Hofmann, Raylin VanHolstyn; brother, Nick Lowell, nephew, Prestin Pfeiffer; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandma, Barb Chandler, aunt, Ann Hallada and grandpa, Meindert VanHolstyn. A Funeral Mass for Justin will take place 11:00 am Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at St.Patrick-St. Anthony Parish with Fr. Norm Droski officiating. Interment will be in Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to OAR Family Center.
