Doris Ellen (Poe) Patton-Johnson

Doris Ellen Patton-Johnson, age 83 a longtime resident of the Grand Haven area, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Yorkshire Manor in Grand Rapids. Doris was born May 5, 1932 to Claude and Lela (Nail) Poe in Fort Wayne, IN. She married James F. Patton in 1951. He passed away in 1985. Doris married Robert Johnson in 1987. He passed away in 2008. Her greatest joy came from meeting and spending time with people. There were no “Strangers” to Doris, only people she hadn’t introduced herself to. Doris was a member of All Shores Wesleyan Church. Doris loved God and her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Dennis (Tova Bross) Patton of Lake Worth, FL, Thomas (Lori) Patton of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Theodore (Elizabeth) Patton, Travis (Amy) Patton and their mother Cyndi Casemier, Esther Patton, Justin Patton, Ryan Bourdo; sisters, Carol (Frank) Frazier, Vera (Owen) Gross, Marilyn (Alton) Gross, Elaine (Nick) Zolman, Sue (Ray) Claxton; sisters-in-law, Jackie Poe, Wilma Switzer; step-children, Robert, Dave, Joan, Susan, Mary and Meg. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Poe and step-son, Tim Johnson. The funeral service for Doris will be at 11 am Saturday, August 29, 2015 at All Shores Wesleyan Church with Pastor Ralph Baynum officiating.
