I was apprehensive making the first call to Klaassen because although Craig and I had discussed using them, we had neglected to make any prearrangements. However, I was immediately put at ease by Scott who said they would take care of everything. They did that and more in a patient and calming manner. My sister and I pre-planned our mom’s funeral, and contacted the Klaassen Family Funeral Home a year in advance of her passing. During that time we got to know Klaassen well. From our initial contact through post-service follow-up, Klaassen staff were knowledgeable, respectful and, importantly, shared laughter with us. Moreover, they were receptive to our requests, which included transporting our mom across the state, from Grand Haven to Wayne, her hometown, where she wished to be buried. They check on us during times that are difficult and offer to connect us with support. Klaassen is truly the best around. They truly care about people.

I can never say enough about the way my mother was treated when we went into Klaassens after her diagnosis. Scott and Jeri were just the right people for our family! Although they knew her diagnosis, they did not treat my mother like an invalid. They were gentle and sensitive, yes, but if felt more like just a friendly visit than a funeral planning. They sat there patiently listening as my mother told more than one of her many stories. When my mom passed, Klaassen had the burial before the memorial service and Scott and his team took care of all the flowers between that time and even came and took care of everything at the memorial as if her body was with us. Their follow up service can't be forgotten either. I have received multiple phone calls and texts from them just to check in and see how I am doing. Although I hope I don't need them again any time soon, when I do need this type of service again, Klaassens will be the first place I call.

It was such a pleasure dealing with such a great group of people in such a beautiful and caring way. We all truly appreciated how you do things in such a caring way. Every detail was just perfect! Thank you all so much. Our family will long have fond memories.

Twelve years ago my husband passed away and we chose Klaassen for his service. At that time, my husband's funeral was one of the largest they had served in their new building. We had motorcycles all over the parking lot, and it was standing room only, even in the entry area. The team at Klaassen's handled it like champs. They allowed us the "moment of thunder" which was the roar of the bikes in my husband's honor.

Three weeks ago when my father passed away, there was no question where we were going, but right back to Klaassen's. We were able to laugh through the tears. They handled every detail with grace. Dad's funeral included a 7 1/2 hour one way trip to the state of his final burial. Kurt did not bat an eye. He coordinated with the out of state cemetery, had everything handled and greeted us for the 11:00 am service.

The Klaassen family is compassionate and listens to your requests, even some of the more unusual ones because they understand how your world has just been turned upside down.

I'm sorry it has taken this long to write to you of my feeling and pleasure of dealing with Klaassen Family Funeral Home. As the time passes it becomes easier for me to address certain issues without the emotional interruption... Its very difficult to write this even now...

February 2nd was a very sad day for me and our family. I lost my wife, my friend, Faye Menard. She was a very important person in all of our lives... We would have been married for 30 years this June. We had been friends for over 50 years... Many friends and family are very sad to see Faye leave this world...

When Faye's mother passed away several years ago, we used Klaassen Family Funeral Home for her service. they were there to help us through this difficult time... This is why we chose Klaassen Family Funeral Home again for Faye's service.

When we found out that Faye was given six months to live in October, I/we started to plan for this loss early. I was able to gather pictures and other memorabilia for her final days. When it was a few weeks before her passing, I visited your facility. I was greeted by Jeri (Ashcraft), she started to make our plans for the what will happen. Scott (Klaassen) joined us later in the meeting. Everything was explained to me as to what would take place and how we would go about it. A list of materials was given to me and thus the road map for the inevitable day that was coming. One thing stuck in my mind, Scott told me no matter what time of day or night I will be there after Faye passes. As the days went by, I would stop in and check to see if I needed to do anything.

The day arrived on February 2nd 2022; Faye passed away just after 11:15 PM... The home called Scott and told him what had happened and within the hour of being called, he was there with an associate to move Faye to the Funeral Home. It was nice to see a friendly face during these times...

Lorie and I met with Scott on the days following Faye's passing. This is what's going to happen... We were able to get picture boards, songs that Faye liked and many pictures and mementos for the service. The Funeral Home was busy at this time with other families in the same situation we were experiencing... BUT all the time, we never felt that we were not their main concern. There were many discussions as to what we wanted for Faye's service; every detail was worked out. Scott also worked with my family early one Sunday, between other families, just for a 4-hour showing, family only. That was very appreciated by all.

Scott and Jeri would call or see me and ask if it was OK to do this or do you want something different. I do believe everything we suggested was approved.

In summation, the way we were treated by the Klaassen family during this very emotional loss of Faye is why we came to this facility in the past. We will also be using them in the future. When some of the darkest days are surrounding you and your family, it's very gratifying to know that they are there to help. Is there anything you need, or can I something for you, call anytime! What a wonderful experience under very trying times...

Klaassen Funeral Home has handled the funerals of both of my parents, Bill and Elaine Beach. My father passed away 10 years ago and I STILL remember how wonderful the Klaassen staff was. My mother recently passed away and we trusted Klaassen's again. My brothers and I, and our families, all live out of town. This could have been difficult to orchestrate in a timely manner, yet Klaassen's accommodated our schedules and tended to our needs. The staff at Klaassen's took care of all the arrangements and details, including Jaime editing the obituary exactly how we wanted it. The funeral folders were very nice and we had a "Remember Me" page for our mother that Jaime copied for us to send to friends and family. Mom wanted a small family service and she wanted her ashes poured in with dads ashes. This happened at the Methodist Church of the Dunes Remembrance Garden. Klaassen's helped us follow our mother's wishes, which is so comforting. Thank you to Scott, David and Jaime for helping our family at this difficult time. You knew what needed to be done and what to say to comfort us. The entire staff at Klaassen Funeral Home is professional, yet it is their sincere caring that we felt most. We were impressed that Elizabeth reached out to us a couple weeks after our loss to see how we were doing and if there was anything else Klaassen could do. We had great service from our first meeting, the same day Dad died, all the way through our graveside service, several days later. The staff was very considerate, professional, and patient with all the members of our family, and we had seven siblings working together to prepare for the service where we would celebrate Dad’s life!!
The room where we had Dad’s visitation was very nice, and the staff helped us set up an area where family could have food and drinks during the visitation.
