William Holman Obituary

William G. Holman, age 92, of Grand Haven, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Grand Pines Assisted Living. He was born on November 15, 1933, in Grand Haven, Michigan, to the late William and Margaret (Wagonmaker) Holman. Bill married his high school sweetheart, Jeanine K. Jolman, in 1953, and together, they shared 76 wonderful years.

A life-long resident of Grand Haven, Bill graduated from Grand Haven High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1963, including both active duty and reserve service.

Bill was a business owner and spent much of his career as a sales representative in the heating and cooling industry. Over the years, he also worked alongside his father-in-law, Robert Jolman, at VanCoevering-Jolman Shoe Store, and later, at The People's Bank.

Bill was a devoted member of Christ Memorial Church, where he sang in the choir. He was also a long-time member of Second Christian Reformed Church, where he served on the Grounds and Building Committee. He was deeply committed to his community, contributing his time to numerous organizations, including the U.S. Coast Guard Festival Committee and the Grand Haven Boardwalk Committee.

Bill had a deep love for sports, especially Grand Haven High School Basketball. He dedicated over 40 years to officiating basketball in Michigan. He also enjoyed golfing and boating with friends, cherishing the time he spent in both places.

Bill will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Jeanine; his daughter, Jill Holman; sons, Brian (Sheri) Holman and Jack (Monique) Holman, all of Grand Haven; five grandchildren: Zac (Halle) Holman, Abigail (Ethan) Shamus, Margaret (Isaac) Vineyard, Paige (Trent) Von Yokes, and Claire (Liam) Tobin; five great-grandchildren: Harper, Maverick, Jace, Tatum, and Grayson; sister-in-law, Ann Holman; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Holman (2024); and brother, Chuck Holman (2025).

The Funeral Service for Bill will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Second Christian Reformed Church, with Pastor Gary Matthews officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 19, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. A private Interment with full Military Honors by the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post 28 will be held at Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Grand Haven Athletics/Boys Basketball or Harbor Hospice.
