William "Bill" John Brown, age 72, of Grand Haven, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 21, 2025, at home. He was born on January 25, 1953, in Grand Haven, MI, to Lloyd and Irene (Tokarczyk) Brown. Bill married Linda Boon on May 23, 1992, in Grand Haven.
Bill graduated from Grand Haven High School, Class of 1971. He was an Eagle Scout and avid outdoorsman who enjoyed sitting out in the woods, hunting, camping, and watching the birds. He especially enjoyed going to the U.P. to go trout fishing with his buddies. Bill also enjoyed spending time in the U.P. with his own family for many years.
Bill was a big fan of the Detroit Lions and U of M Football and loved listening to music. He also enjoyed taking his 1997 Camaro out for a drive with his dog and best buddy, Shiloh. Most important to Bill was family, and he loved nothing more than to spend as much time with them as he could.
Bill will be forever remembered and missed by his loving wife of 33 years, Linda; his daughter, Ellen Brown (Stew Upton); son, Jerod (Taylor) Brown; his mother, Irene Brown; his four brothers: Robert (Mary) Brown, Scott (Sunday) Brown, Skip Brown, and Kirk Brown; brother-in-law, David (Yvonne) Boon; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Brown; sisters, Sandra Hansen and Susan Houseman; and parents-in-law, Arie and Joann Boon.
A Memorial Visitation for Bill will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life for Bill will take place at a later date to be announced.
Bill was passionate about helping those in need and making sure he did his part to ensure nobody ever went without. In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Bill, the family requests you please consider a donation to the "Mercury Drive Tiny Library & Food Pantry" located on the corner of Pine Street and Mercury Drive in Grand Haven, which he and his wife founded four years ago.
