Wayne Lee Purchase

Wayne Lee Purchase, age 59 of Grand Haven, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020 at home. He was born on June 21, 1960 in Grand Rapids, MI to Richard and Virgilene (Baker) Purchase.

After moving to the Grand Haven area, Wayne graduated from Grand Haven High School, and went on to serve our country in the US Navy from 1981 to 1985 where he received the Good Conduct Award and Sea-Service Deployment Ribbon. He was a restaurant manager until 1992, past-president of the National Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds, and was proud co-owner/operator of Mio Pine Acres Campground for several years.

Wayne enjoyed playing board games and cards, spending time with his family, and chatting with the people who frequented his campground. He will be missed by many friends and family.

Wayne is lovingly remembered by his mother, Virgilene; four sisters, Diane (Bill) Szabo, Sandy (Ken) Sharkey, Holly Gomez, and Alyce (Jim) Sherman; 13 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard in 2001.

Private family services to be held. Memorial Contributions may be made to the National Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds (A.R.V.C.)
