Timothy Paul Burgess

Timothy Paul Burgess, age 64 of Grand Haven, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Heartwood Lodge. He was born on January 6, 1957 in Grand Haven, MI to the late Robert and Hester (Van Tol) Burgess, Sr.

Tim was a life-long resident of Grand Haven, and graduated from Grand Haven High School. He married Jean Bowers on May 20, 2000 in Spring Lake, MI. Tim was a spiritual man who served as a short-term missionary in St. Thomas U.S.V.I. He also served as an Ordained Minister, but had to retire shortly after ordination due to health issues. Tim had worked for the Grand Haven Tribune and the Muskegon Chronicle for many years as a carrier.

Tim was a member of C3 for several years and was part of a Visual Impairment Support Group , where he met his wife to be. He enjoyed audio-book reading, history, and watching “Jeopardy!”

Tim is lovingly remembered and missed by his wife of 21 years, Jean Burgess; his step-son, David Bowers of Grand Haven; his identical twin brother, Tom Burgess of Grand Haven; brother, David (Sue) Burgess of San Jose, CA; sister, Lyn Burgess of Muskegon; sister-in-law, Linda Burgess of Grand Haven; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two siblings, Priscilla and Bob Burgess.

A Private Family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
