Thomas “Tom” Jerry Sabo

Thomas “Tom” Jerry Sabo, age 81 of Grand Haven, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital. Tom was born on December 14, 1941, in Grand Haven, MI, to Steve and Clara (Schmaltz) Sabo. He married Hazel Diedrich on February 2, 2001.

Tom worked at Bastian Blessing and retired from MLP. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he loved trapping and fishing on the Grand River.

Tom is lovingly remembered by his wife of 22 years, Hazel Sabo of Grand Haven; mother of his two sons, Shirley Haubrich; sons, Mike (Denise) Sabo of Grand Haven and Torn (Holly) Sabo of Fruitport; his step-daughter, Marie (Brandon) Banner of Norton Shores; and step-son, Donovan Potter of Muskegon; 11 grandchildren: Forrest (Rachel), Payton, Jordan, Sara, Bryelle, Jordyn, Landon, Bodhi, Lyla, Novalee and Nashton; two great-grandchildren, Talan and Kinsley; many nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Arlene Sabo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Judy Olechnowicz and Sally Ralya; two brothers, James Sabo and Rudy Sabo; and two brothers-in-law, Les Ralya and Richard Olechnowicz.

Private family services will take place.
