Thomas “Tom” Murawsky Obituary

Thomas “Tom” Richard Murawsky, age 38, of Spring Lake, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 15, 2024. Born on August 19, 1986, Tom grew up in Capac, Michigan where he attended Capac High School. He was a recent graduate from Full Sail University with a Bachelor's degree in Audio Production. He was just days away from graduating with his Master’s degree in Game Design.

Tom served honorably as a Sergeant in the US Army for nine years. He took pride in serving his country as a Tanker and Infantry Striker Driver, with tours taking him to Korea and Iraq until his medical discharge in 2015. He received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Top Tank Gunnery award. After his retirement from the military, he felt the call to return to the middle east as a volunteer for the Sons of Liberty International militia, where he spent time training and advising the locals.

Tom was a lifelong learner and took every opportunity to further his knowledge. From world history and religion, to photography, music, and artistic design, nothing was too trivial or difficult for him to perfect. He was everyone’s true “phone a friend" in the event of an impossible trivia question, and all of his sisters’ first choice as an escape room partner.

His road of discovery finally led him down the path of becoming an audio engineer and sound designer, where he worked hard at mastering the field. His collaborations on several projects were as promising as were his talents. He was highly respected, appreciated and loved by all those who had the honor of knowing him.

He will be forever remembered and missed by his son, Creighton Murawsky; parents: Robert Murawsky and Kristin Burgett; sisters: Beth (Matt) Robke, Tara (Ken) Jordan, and Kathy Swanger; brother, Brian (Heather) Murawsky; step-siblings: Michelle Meldrum, Clifton Fraley-Burgett, Adrienne Vaccaro, and Elizabeth Wilson; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
