Teri Jo McGrath, age 70 of Grand Haven, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital. She was born on November 21, 1952 in Kalamazoo, MI to the late Charles and Barbara (McIntyre) Downs.
Teri graduated from Gull Lake High School and went on to retire from Ottawa County after 22 years. She continued to work for the D & W Food Center for 20 years as a cashier.
Teri was a faithful member of St. Patrick - St. Anthony Catholic Parish for many years. She enjoyed going to the beach, going to breakfast at Stanz Café with friends, and shopping around town.
Teri especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and religiously attended their school and sporting events. She also enjoyed having her children visit all summer long and would frequently visit them during the winter months.
Teri is lovingly remembered and missed by her two daughters, April (Ryan) Lynch and Megan (Chad) Rakoczy; her two sons, Tom (Trishia) McGrath and Nick McGrath; her six beloved grandchildren: Shelby Cook, Austin and Isabelle McGrath, C.J. and Megan Rakoczy, and Evelyn Lynch; great-grandson, Elias Johnson; niece Natalie Downs Hyatt; and her sister, Tami (Steve) Harvey.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Scott Downs.
The Memorial Mass for Teri will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023 at St. Patrick - St. Anthony Catholic Parish, Grand Haven Michigan, with Fr. Dan Schumaker officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery after the luncheon.
