Teresa Lynn Taylor, age 57, of Grand Haven, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 6, 1968, in Grand Haven, MI, to Terry and Donna (Williams) Westedt. Teresa married Chris Taylor on August 6, 1998, in Grand Haven, MI. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2018, after 20 years of marriage.
Teresa graduated from Grand Haven High School, Class of 1987, and was a lifetime resident of the area. She worked as Security Supervisor for Michigan Turkey Producers and served as co-leader of her local Girl Scouts Troop for many years.
Teresa was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and was an avid outdoorswoman who enjoyed being outdoors, camping, taking family trips to Iowa, and especially spending time with her family.
Teresa will be forever remembered and missed by her two daughters, Amber (David) Westedt-Cook and Mariah Taylor; her father, Terry Westedt; three sisters: Kimberly (Doug) Loggins, Linda Semmens, and Barb (Mike) Zielinski; 10 nieces and nephews; 6 great-nieces and great-nephews; and many aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna Westedt; her husband, Chris; her grandparents and great-grandparents; and parents-in-law, George and Orvetta Taylor.
The Memorial Service for Teresa will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Aaron Vergin officiating. Visitations will be held on Thursday, September 25th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church, as well as one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or to Amber Westedt-Cook c/o Klaassen Funeral Home to help with Teresa’s final expenses.
