Susan “Sue” Louise (Ramsey) Lepo

Susan “Sue” Louise Lepo, age 77 of Grand Haven, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. Sue was an amazing mom, grandma, and special friend to many. She was born on July 30, 1945 in Traverse City, MI to George Harold and Avolyn Ruth (Shaw) Ramsey.

Sue grew up on Lake Macatawa, enjoying watersports and lifelong friendships. After graduation from West Ottawa High School, she earned her design degree from Ray Vogue Art School in Chicago. Sue married and had two boys, Jeff and Mike, whom she took on many adventures which included fishing and camping. She worked as a driver for Coin Courier Service, where she fell in love with Northern Michigan, especially Lake Leelanau, and later, enjoyed a fulfilling career as a project manager for Herman Miller. 

Sue lived life to the fullest, whether cruising on her Harley down Devil’s Tail, summering in Lake Leelanau, or cheering on her children and then grandchildren at sporting events; Susan savored every moment. She embraced life, always enjoying a delicious meal and a drive in her beloved convertible.

Sue was a lifelong animal lover, devoting her time to horses, cats, dogs, goats, and even a talkative parrot.  Susan will be remembered as a strong, intelligent, independent woman who made a wonderful life for herself and her family. She will be missed by her cherished friends and family. 

Susan leaves behind her sons, Jeffrey (Joy) and Michael (Lisa); and her grandchildren, Avolyn, Ashton, Aidan, and Cyrus. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Roger Ramsey.

The Memorial Service for Susan will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Doug Bytwerk officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
