Susan Margaret (Lloyd) Davis

Susan Margaret Davis, age 79, of Grand Haven, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at home. She was born on August 29, 1944, in Grand Rapids, MI, to the late Dudley and Dorothy (Snyder) Lloyd. Susan married Dave Davis on August 26, 1965, in Grand Haven.

Susan graduated from Grand Haven High School and later received her master’s degree in education from Western Michigan University. She began her career as an elementary school teacher for Grand Haven Area Public Schools, which she did for 30 years before her retirement. She also spent a few years teaching elementary school in Germany.

Susan enjoyed reading, gardening, card-making, scrapbooking, and traveling. But most important to her was spending time with her grandchildren.

Susan will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband, Dave; and their three daughters: Jen (Brian) McDonough, Kate (Ed) Magyar, and Abby (Gustavo) Cruz-Davis; six beloved grandchildren: Will McDonough, Avery Magyar, Miguel Cruz-Davis, Caroline McDonough, Jordan Magyar and Isabel Cruz-Davis; sister, Maggie (Jack) Cook; brother-in-law, Ron (Dawn) Davis, sister-in-law, Debra Lee Moore; and her niece and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Bryon Moore.

The Memorial Visitation for Susan will take place on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery.
