Steven Scott Payne

Steven Scott Payne, age 57 of Grand Haven, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at home. He was born on July 29, 1966, in Grand Haven, MI, to the late Arthur and Rosemary (Bedwell) Payne.

Steve attended Grand Haven High School and was housekeeping Supervisor at the former North Ottawa Community Hospital for 36 years, which he loved. He was a do-it-yourself kind of guy who liked to work on home improvement projects and tinker around the garage and fix things.

Steve was known as an extremely creative, thoughtful, and caring man who had a wonderful sense of humor and was always helping others. He was a foodie who enjoyed good food, traveling, shopping, gardening, and attending the Annual Coast Guard Festival every year. Steve especially relished time spent with his family and friends, who were most important to him.

Steve will be forever remembered and missed by his sister, Myra (Richard) Nyland of Grand Haven; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Vickey Warner; brother, Randy Payne; and nephew, Christopher Nyland.

A Memorial Visitation for Steve will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Klaassen Family Funeral Home.
