Stephen L. Gulis, age 94 of Spring Lake, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at North Ottawa Community Hospital while holding his wife’s hand. He was born on January 25, 1926 in Spring Lake, MI to the late Stephen and Victoria (Siles) Gulis. Stephen married Delores Williams on September 23, 1950 in Muskegon, MI.
Steve graduated from Grand Haven High School, and was a lifetime resident of the Tri-Cities. He was self-employed as a Realtor-Broker of Steve Gulis Realty. He was a life-time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where he was involved and active in the Seniors Group. He was also a life-time member of the Grand Haven Fraternal Order of Eagles #925, a member of the Tri-Cities Kiwanis Club and the Muskegon Moose Lodge. Steve was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying his golf game and hunting, and was passionate about farming on the family farm in Spring Lake.
Stephen is remembered and missed by his wife of 70 years, Delores; his three children: Nancy (James) Crane of Spring Lake, Patricia Gulis-Yonker of Spring Lake, and Stephen (Janet) Gulis, Jr. of Naples, FL; 6 grandchildren: Robert Crane, Danielle (Devin) Harrington, Kimberly Yonker, Michelle (Kellen) Van Dreumel, Christine (David) Janicki, William (Tiffany) Crane; and 6 great-grandchildren: Everly, Mila, Jackson, Wyatt, Theodore, and Jordan.
He was preceded in death by his son, Paul; two sisters, Mary Falkenberry and Antoinette Gulis; and two brothers, Rudolph and Joseph Gulis.
A Private Graveside Service at Spring Lake Township Cemetery with Father Norman Droski officiating has taken place.
