Sharon Willma Meinel, age 69 of Nunica, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at a local care facility. She was born on February 14, 1949 to Lloyd and Harriet (Kooiman) Marshall in Grand Haven. Sharon married Richard Meinel on July 1, 1967 in Grand Haven, and they were married for 50 years before her passing.
She was a member of the Grand Haven Church of the Nazarene, and worked for the Grand Haven Tribune delivering newspapers for 15 years. Sharon liked watching television, reading, and spending time with her family.
Sharon is lovingly remembered and missed by her husband, Richard; daughter, Dawn Meinel of Nunica; son, Richard Meinel, Jr. of Nunica; sisters, Alma (Dick) Desjardins of Marlette, Kitty (Chuck) Fritz of Marne, and Mary Lou (Joe) Thompson of Kentwood; brother, Tom Marshall of Coopersville; in-laws, Pat Meinel, Penny (Jim) Trowbridge, and Sandy Meinel; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Charlotte Beuche, and Dorothy Vincent; two brothers, Sonny and Mike Marshall; and brother-in-law, Fred Meinel.
The Memorial Service for Sharon will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Church of the Nazarene in Grand Haven with Pastor Stephen Abbott officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
