Sharon Kay Fitzpatrick, age 74 of Grand Haven Township, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. She was born on February 26, 1949, in Dowagiac, MI to the late Charles and Betty (Miller) Burroughs. Sharon married John Edward Fitzpatrick on October 20, 1973, in Grand Haven, and he preceded her in death on October 24, 2019 after 46 years of marriage.
Sharon attended Grand Haven Public Schools and worked as a server for 13 years at the former Vicki’s Inn Restaurant. She was active in Ottawa County 4-H, serving as a horse project leader for many years. Sharon enjoyed spending time working on their farm, sewing, cooking, woodworking, and word searches, but the most important part of her life was her family. Sharon loved the holidays and always made them special for her children and grandchildren.
Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters: Cassie (Heath) Heyblom of Yukon, OK, Melissa (Joshua) Wisenbaugh of Grand Haven, and Audra (Curtis Cook) Fitzpatrick-Cook of Grand Haven; 11 grandchildren: Alicia (Gage) Rose, Brigitte Heyblom, Dayna Heyblom, Evan Curtis, Ella Curtis, Violet Curtis, Luke Wisenbaugh, Isabelle Wisenbaugh, Ethan Wisenbaugh, Eli Wisenbaugh, and Keyon Sheneman; her great-granddaughter, Evangeline; four sisters: Sandi Carlton, Sheila Hardy, Cindy (Jerry) Boersema, and Kathy Todd; and two brothers: Marvin (Chris) Burroughs and Mike Burroughs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and a brother, Charles Burroughs.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
