Sandra Louise (York) Robinson

Sandra Louise Robinson, age 77 of Grand Haven, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Mercy Hospital. She was born on April 4, 1944 in Athens, GA to the late Leon and Hazel (Hubbard) York. Sandra married Robert James Robinson, Jr. on October 29, 1963. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2021 after 57 years of marriage.

Sandra was a former long-time member of First Presbyterian Church. In her younger years, she was an artist who very much enjoyed painting. Sandra loved to read books, and was known by her kids as being the best cook around.

She loved being outdoors, and when the boys were little, she would take them to the beach a lot in the summer months. Sandra's garden was the envy of the neighborhood, and tending to it was her most beloved thing to do in her later years. Sandra’s favorite time of year was Christmas, and her family has fond memories of her in good spirits, making the house look festive and baking holiday treats.

Sandra is lovingly remembered and missed by her two sons, James Robinson of Jacksonville, FL, and Patrick Robinson of Grand Haven; step-grandson, Connor VanKampen; sister, Jean (Wayne) Kennedy; brothers, Kenneth and Mike (Debbie) York; sisters-in-law, Linda Robinson and Jeanne Krebs; and her brother-in-law, John (Patricia) Robinson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; and her brother, Richard York.

The Memorial Service for Sandra will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Klaassen Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Doug Bytwerk officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
