Sandra Kay (Brzys) Christian

Sandra Kay Christian, age 83, of Cheboygan, died peacefully at home on Thursday, July 18, 2024. She was born on February 4, 1941, in Cheboygan, MI, to the late Anthoney and Ruth (Grant) Brzys. Sandy married Todd Christian in 1964, and he preceded her in death on December 4, 2014.

Sandy graduated from Cheboygan High School and began her career working as a loan officer and office manager, later retiring from the family’s funeral home, Christian Funeral Home, after 32 years.

Her three grandchildren, Alex, Ben, and Skylar have fond memories of their time together. The four of them were, “the fun side,” of the breakfast table at Big Boy. Sandy always pretended that her usual order, the strawberry waffle, was unusual. She would pull a frown and say, “You know what? I think I’ll try the strawberry waffle today.” All three kids would order the same thing the same way. On the lame side of the table her late husband, Todd, son Scott, and daughter-in-law, Angela, faked disapproval over their spinach omelets. We will all remember the mountains of whipped cream, the elephant ears at the fair, the Yogi Bear Park days, and the Vivio’s Pizza nights. Sandy also loved her friends and the strong community she had in Cheboygan.

Sandy will be lovingly remembered and missed by her son, Scott (Angela) Christian; and three grandchildren: Alex, Ben, and Skylar Christian.

The Funeral Service for Sandra will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at St. Mary's - St. Charles Catholic Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church, followed by a Reception at 1:00 p.m. at Mulligan’s. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, next to her husband.
