Ronald R. Davis, age 79, of Grand Haven, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, while traveling with family during the Christmas Holiday. He was born on October 22, 1946, in Menominee, MI, to the late Cleo and Audrey (Pogrant) Davis.
Ron attended school in Menominee before moving to Grand Haven in 1961. He graduated from Grand Haven High School, and later, relocated to Kalamazoo to attend Western Michigan University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1969. On June 24, 1977, Ron married Dawn Butler in Grand Haven, and together they shared 48 cherished years of marriage.
Ron retired from the State of Michigan after many years of dedicated service as a special agent. He was deeply committed to community involvement, volunteering with numerous service clubs throughout the Tri-Cities area to help make it a better place to live. Ron and Dawn faithfully served on the Coast Guard Festival Board for more than two decades. He was also a past president of the Grand Haven Area Jaycees and a proud member of AMBUCS.
Ron enjoyed spending his winters in warmer climates and spent many years in Florida. He will be remembered as a kind soul and a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Ron is survived by his best friend and wife, Dawn; his son, Brandon (Ashley) Davis; granddaughter, Alivia Davis (Mason Smith); step-grandchildren, Nathan and Charlie Bremmer; his sister, Debra Moore; his brother, Dave Davis; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law, Norma Stoutamire; sister-in-law, Sue Davis; and brother-in-law, Bryon Moore.
The Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held on Friday, January 23, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Grand Haven Elks Lodge #1200.
