Ron L. Berg

July 25, 1944 ~ November 15, 2021 (age 77)

Ron L. Berg, age 77 of Grand Haven, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 15, 2021. He was born on July 25, 1944 in Muskegon, MI to Harold and Verla (Gingrich) Berg.

Ron graduated from Muskegon High School, and then attended Aquinas College for two years. He married Virginia Robach on June 11, 1966, and together, they raised six children. Ron had a long career as a Business Manager with IBM, retiring at the age of 65.

He was a man of faith who was a member of St. Patrick-St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish of Grand Haven and had a love for Jesus that carried him throughout his life’s journey. Ron was a very loving and devoted husband, and was always selflessly giving of his time by putting his family’s needs above his own.

He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed working in his yard, walks on the beach, and boating. Every summer, he prioritized getting his family together at their cottage on Bass Lake where lifelong memories were made playing cards, swimming with the kids, and eating countless s’mores around the campfire. There’s no better “Old Heck” scorekeeper!

Ron is lovingly remembered and missed by his wife of 55 years, Ginny; and their children, Lance Berg of Los Angeles, CA, Steve Berg of Farmington Hills, MI, Trevor (Louise) Berg of Ashville, NC, Vince (Noel) Berg of Nunica, MI, Bridget (Andrew) Walters of Ypsilanti, MI, and Heather (Jason) McVoy of Grand Haven, MI; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his sister, Bonnie (Robert) Bolduc of Twin Lake, MI; five sisters-in-law, and two brothers-in-law; as well as many nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Berg.

The Funeral Mass which was scheduled for Ron has been postponed and will take place at St. Patrick-St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish at a later date to be announced.

Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery in Grand Haven.
