Retired Reeths-Puffer High School Math Teacher, Roger Paul Moore, age 79 of Grand Haven, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021 at a local care facility. He was born on February 19, 1942 in Grand Haven, MI to the late Gordon and Angie (Bonema) Moore. Roger married Lois J. Hogsett on November 18, 1967 in Grand Haven, and they enjoyed 53 years together.
Roger was a graduate of Grand Haven High School and Western Michigan University, and was a life-long resident. He worked as a Math Teacher at Reeths-Puffer High School for 37 years and was owner of Roger Moore Photography. Roger was a painter for Art Brosseitt Painting, coached high school track and field, and also taught drivers training.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Spring Lake where he served as past Trustee, and was very active in the missions with the church and the AWANA Club. He served as Senior Class Advisor and enjoyed working and investing in young adults to help them on their career path. Roger also enjoyed golfing, college sports, traveling, and boating.
Roger is lovingly remembered and missed by his wife, Lois; his three daughters, Kelly (Jeff), Tracy (Scott), and Shelby (Josh); his son, Kevin (Christy); his nine grandchildren: Jack, Max, Caleb, Sophia, Maggie, Noah, Hannah, Grace, and Wyatt; and his sister, Joann.
The Memorial Service for Roger will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Spring Lake with Pastors Doug Bytwerk and Conner McMakin officiating. Visitation will be held at 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery.
