Roger Henry Katt

Roger Henry Katt, age 77, of Grand Haven, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at home. He was born on April 11, 1943 in Grand Haven, MI to the late Henry and Berdean Katt. Roger married Sandra Skeba on August 15, 1992 in Grand Haven.

Roger was a lifelong resident of Grand Haven and graduated from Grand Haven High School. He was known as the first “Bucco” for the Grand Haven Public Schools Sporting Teams. Roger was a member of St. Patrick – St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish and worked for Bastian Blessing, Trendway, Medi-Lodge at the Shore, and most recently, City of Grand Haven at Harbor Transit.

He was a lifetime member of the Grand Haven Eagles, FOE Aerie 925, and a former member of the Grand Haven Area Jaycee’s and the Grand Haven Township Fire Dept. Roger enjoyed spending the summer months lounging in his backyard pool or out boating on the lake, and wintering in Naples, FL. He also enjoyed spending time with his family up north at the cottage whenever they could get away, and he was an avid U of M fan.

Roger is lovingly remembered and missed by his wife of 28 years, Sandra Katt; son, Jeff Katt of Grand Haven; daughters, Brenda (Chris) Bauchan of Ada, MI, Kim (Michael) Condella of Georgia, and Danielle (Jeffery) Starke of Rockford, MI; six grandchildren: Abigail, Janelle, Sam, Chad, Riley, Reese; one great-grandson, Wyat Katt; sister, Donna Wierenga; sisters-in-law, Carol (David) Johnson and Joni (James) Christensen; and brother-in-law, Robert (Maureen) Skeba.

The Memorial Mass for Roger will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2020 at St. Patrick – St. Anthony’s Parish with Fr. Norman Droski officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery.
