Robert "Bob" W. Sluis

Robert "Bob" Wesley Sluis, age 83, of Spring Lake, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in Coopersville. He was born on August 6, 1941, in Chicago, IL, to the late Norman and Alberdine (Biegel) Sluis. Bob married Patricia Novakowski on July 21, 1961, in Coopersville. She preceded him in death on January 18, 2022, after 60 years of marriage.

Bob graduated from Grand Haven High School and went on to work for Eagle Ottawa Leather Co. until his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and proud member of the Knights of Columbus. Bob was a talented woodworker who enjoyed going camping and tinkering and fixing things.

Bob will be forever remembered and missed by his two daughters, Lisa (Pete) Williams and Darcy (Dave) Pelton; his son, Leon (Dee) Sluis; six grandchildren: Jaime (Erin), Sean, Jacob, and Jackson Barkel, Lyndsey and Mason Pelton; 3 great-grandchildren and several extended family.

He was preceded in death by his wife; and daughter, Dawn Sluis (1988).

The Funeral Service for Bob will take place at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery.
