Robert "Jay" Davis

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Robert Jay Davis, age 66, of Coopersville, passed away on May 2, 2026, at home. Jay was born on August 9, 1959, in Lakeland, Florida, to the late Bertrand and Dorothy (Raymond) Davis.

Jay was a passionate rider, known for his love of the open road and the thrill of the trails. He spent countless joyful hours on his motorcycles and snowmobiles, embracing outdoor adventure in every season. Beyond his love for riding, Jay's greatest pride and joy were his daughters and granddaughters. He leaves behind family who will carry his memory in every shared story.

For over four decades, Jay dedicated his career as a project manager in the asbestos abatement industry to promote safety and mentor his clients and team. He cultivated lifetime friendships with those he was working for and with. Jay took great pride in working hard and being a steady presence on every job site, remaining calm under pressure, being pragmatic in problem solving, and being generous with his vast knowledge and expertise.

Jay will be forever remembered and missed by his four daughters: Nikki (Mark) Lindsay, Kristina Davis, Arianna (Colten) Braybrooks, and Jessica Davis (Dylan Sanders); grandchildren: Dakota and Brooke Linder, Layla Braybrooks, and Austen Lindsay; and his sister, Shirley Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bert Davis; and sister, Mary Ann Fender.

A Celebration of Life for Jay will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Central Park Place (422 Columbus Ave., Grand Haven, 49417).

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
