Rita C. (Rodriguez) Allin

Rita C. Allin, age 87 of Robinson Township, passed away at home on Monday, September 18, 2023 after a brief illness. She was born on January 7, 1936 in Beulah, Michigan to Pedro and Iva (Cornell) Rodriguez. Rita married Albert W. Allin on July 4, 1959, in Glen Arbor, Michigan. They celebrated over 50 years of marriage prior to his passing on July 11, 2010.

After high school, Rita went on to attend college in Elkhart, Indiana and had a career in the medical field working as a Lab and X-Ray Technician in several West Michigan Hospitals including Muskegon General, Blodgett, and Grand Rapids Osteopathic.

Rita enjoyed artwork, flowers and gardening, and reading a good book. She also had a passion for race cars and was a private pilot for many decades, owning her own plane which she often flew around Michigan and various parts of the United States.

Rita is survived by several nieces and nephews; her long-time friends and neighbors, Chad and Nancy Seehase; and her beloved cat, Mr. Beans. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters; and a brother.

In accordance of Rita’s wishes, she was cremated and there will not be any service or visitation held.
