Richard "Dick" Lee Robinson

Richard Lee Robinson, age 89 of Grant, MI (formerly of Grand Haven), passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Fountainview Retirement Village in Grant. He was born on August 19, 1931 to Donald and Charlotte (Slaughter) Robinson in Grand Haven, Michigan. He married Shirley Ann Thomas on June 29, 1955 in Lowell, MI and she preceded him in death on April 17, 2012.  

Richard was the Fire Chief for the City of Grand Haven until his retirement. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4249 in Newaygo. 

Richard is survived by his two daughters, Mary Jo (Ken) Umlor of Grant, MI and Donna Robinson of Topeka, KS; his son, Richard L. (Roxanne) Robinson, Jr. of McMinnville, OR; 7 grandchildren,and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Jimmy Robinson and David Robinson. 

The Memorial Service for Richard will take place at a later date to be announced. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Newaygo County Museum and Heritage Center.
