Richard Delbert Welch

Richard Delbert Welch, age 82, of Grand Haven, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at home. He was born on August 17, 1941, in Kalamazoo, MI, to the late Delbert and Agnes (Pierce) Welch. Richard married Linda Lam on July 3, 1986, in Holland, MI. Richard and Linda have been residents of Grand Haven for the past four years, previously residing in West Olive.

Richard graduated from Gobles High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Ferris State University. He worked several years as a pharmacist and in 1989, he started his own Pharmaceutical Company. Richard owned and operated Welch Laboratories, LLC, for many years prior to retirement. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Dunes and loved to travel, fish, and was known to be an excellent chef.

Richard will be lovingly remembered and missed by his beloved wife of 37 years, Linda; and their two daughters, Carrie (Sherman LaBarge) Welch and Kelly (Walter) Maronek all of Parchment, MI; their son, Mark Lam of Franklin, TN; four grandchildren: Zach and Nathan Maronek, and Jolie and Minh LaBarge; his sister, Ann Holland; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Roger Welch; and his brother-in-law, Jack Holland.

A private family Interment will be held in the United Methodist Church of the Dunes Memorial Garden. A private family Celebration of Life will be held.
