Richard Leroy Spencer

Richard Leroy Spencer, age 58, of Robinson Township, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 3, 2025, at home. He was born on April 24, 1966, in Grand Haven, MI, to Harry and Jeraldine (Smith) Spencer.

Richard grew up in Grand Haven and graduated from Grand Haven High School. He worked as a bouncer for his friend's band and other music events. Richard enjoyed fishing, tinkering with cars, hanging out with his friends, and hunting in his younger years. He also had a knack for making model cars, which he enjoyed doing.

Richard will be remembered and missed by his brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Janna Spencer; his two nieces, Jessica Griswold and Deidre (Chris) Meier; five nephews: Fred Spencer, Jr., John Griswold, Jr., Ron (Bobbie) Griswold, Michael (Melissa) Griswold, and Francis (Julie) Griswold; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harry Spencer, Jr.; and his sister, Mary Griswold.

A Celebration of Life for Richard will be held at a later date to be announced.

Interment will be at Robinson Township Cemetery.
