Rhonda Kay (Johnson) VanOveren

Rhonda Kay VanOveren, age 78, of Spring Lake, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital. She was born on August 23, 1946, in Grand Haven, MI, to the late George and Joyce (Kieft) Johnson. Rhonda married John VanOveren on February 10, 1966, in Spring Lake, MI.

Rhonda graduated from Grand Haven High School and was a lifetime resident of the Tri-Cities. She worked for Denver-Gardner for a brief time and attended church services at the Grand Haven Gospel Chapel and All Shores Wesleyan Church in Spring Lake for many years. Rhonda enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoying the outdoors, gardening, and was an avid sports fan.

Rhonda will be lovingly remembered and missed by her loving husband of 59 years, John; her daughter, Jodi Lynn Riewald; and son, Jamie (Angela) VanOveren; two grandsons, Connor and Logan VanOveren; her sister, Sue Slager Hunt; and her brother-in-law, Paul VanOveren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister-in-law, Margaret VanOveren.

A private family graveside service will be held at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
