Raymond Lyle Grimm, age 81 of Grand Haven, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Grand Pines Assisted Living Center. He was born on March 22, 1940 in Perham, MN to the late Walter and Lillie (Simpson) Grimm. Ray married the former Sandra Snow on July 8, 1961 in Muskegon, MI.
Ray graduated from Muskegon High School and studied Engineering at the University of Michigan. He worked for Muskegon Piston Ring and retired from Federal Mogul.
Ray enjoyed spending time with his family and shared his love of books, art, and music with them. A family story led him into genealogical research and many travel adventures, after which he authored several detailed family histories. He also had a passion for photography, and enjoyed capturing special moments throughout Grand Haven and beyond. His candid family photos will be cherished by many.
Ray is lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Sandy Grimm of Grand Haven; their two daughters, Cristine Grimm (T. “Max” Lautzenheiser) and Sarah (Mark) Reyers; and two sons, Jonathon (Estella) Grimm and Matthew Grimm (Eva Mallay); eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his two brothers, Richard (Jane) Grimm and Dale (Linda) Grimm; mother-in-law, Iva Snow; sister-in-law, Cheryl Snow; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Reelman.
A Private Family Graveside Service will take place at Robinson Township Cemetery.
