Randall Karell Obituary

Randall Scott Karell, age 57 of Hesperia, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital, after a brief illness. He was born on May 23, 1966, in Muskegon, MI, to Steve and Jean (Van Dop) Karell.

Randy graduated from Grand Haven High School and worked with his father for many years, building homes for Steve Karell Builders and Dr. Lube.  He married Marian Zalsman on August 14, 1993, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Spring Lake.

He enjoyed nature and spending time fishing and hunting with his four boys, as well as tending to his garden and playing with his many dogs.

Randy is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Marian; and his four sons: Andrew (Samantha) Karell, Mitchell Van Oosterhout, Michael (Kyleigh) Karell, and James Karell; granddaughter, Selah Karell; his mother, Jean Karell; his sister, Lisa (Patrick) Nowlen; brothers-in-law: Andy (Kelly) Zalsman, Dan (Melissa) Zalsman, Jesse Zalsman; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
