Phillip “Fyl” Allen Fowler, age 75 of Norton Shores, was promoted to glory on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at home. He was born on July 20, 1948, in Muskegon, MI, to the late George and Glenna (Halverson) Fowler. Phillip married Luanne A. Evans on March 30, 1974, in Grand Haven.

Phillip was a life-long area resident and graduated from Grand Haven High School. He was employed for Eagle Ottawa Leather Company for 25 years and served as custodian for the Church of the Nazarene for 20 years prior to his retirement. Phillip was a long-time member of the Church of the Nazarene and most recently a member of the Muskegon Salvation Army.

In addition to his work career, he had been very active with the Tri-Cities Civil Defense. Phillip enjoyed working on model ships and airplanes and working on military vehicles. He was known to be very artistic and loved to paint portraits for his family to enjoy. The most important part of his life was spending time with his family.

Phillip will be loving remembered and missed by his wife of 49 years, Luanne; his daughters, Carrie Fowler (Tim Strandberg) and Elizabeth (Jay) McDaniels; his son, Evan (Samantha) Fowler; seven grandchildren: Gabby Cameron, Ayden Brealey, Kassy Stroud, Kyle Stroud, Hayden McDaniels, Aaron Strandberg, and Leah Sabo; three sisters: Carolynne (Doug) Glover, Shelley (John) Giddings, Kelly (Mark) Lawburgh; two brothers, Blair (Sandy) Fowler and Dale (Julia) Fowler; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Vicki Fowler; and his parents-in-law, Burford and Irene Evans.

The Funeral Service for Phillip will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023, at the Church of the Nazarene, with Major Lynetta Poff officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 2:00 to 4:00 the church. Interment will be at Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Muskegon Salvation Army.
