Philip Michael Thompson, Sr.

Philip Michael Thompson, Sr., age 73, of Grand Haven, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 31, 2025. He was born on July 14, 1952, in Grand Haven, MI, to the late Bernard and Verna (Penalty) Thompson.

Philip graduated from Grand Haven High School and worked in the foundry all of his working career. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, as well as motor sports, drag racing, and circle track racing. Philip was a big football fan, especially of the Detroit Lions.

Philip will be forever remembered and missed by his son, Philip (Valerie) Thompson, Jr. of Grand Haven; two loved grandchildren, Alexis (Maverick) and Alayna Thompson; and his brother, Charlie (Barb) Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his three siblings: George Thompson, Bernadine Pierce, and Nancy Capitano.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
