Patricia "Pat" Ann Morris, age 87, of Grand Haven, passed away peacefully in her sleep holding her granddaughter, Marissa's hand on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. She was born on February 2, 1937, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of William and Alice (Beauchamp) Newington. After graduating from Mackenzie High School in Detroit, she married James Morris on August 20, 1955.
Pat spent many years as an active volunteer at North Ottawa Community Hospital, where she worked in the gift shop and sewing guild, making gowns for the breast clinic, and where she also made handmade sweaters, booties, and caps for infants. But her greatest love was to be a wife and homemaker for her family.
Pat spent many years volunteering at Lakeshore Baptist academy as a teachers aid in preschool. She loved children and served as a cub scout leader. She also enjoyed machine-knitting with her friends in a group known as the "Knitwhits."
Pat was a longtime member of Lakeshore Baptist Church. She was very talented, a great cook, and baker. She loved sewing, oil painting, and animals. Pat had many dogs throughout the years, but was especially fond of her Toy Poodle, Lily.
Pat is lovingly remembered and missed by her husband of almost 70 years, Jim; and their children, Shirley (Michael) Bagalay, Glenn (Carla) Morris; five grandchildren: Ryan, Adam, Marissa, Sydney, and Nate; seven great-grandchildren; and her sister, Deborah (Edward) Applebee.
She was preceded in death by her two twin sisters, Janet and Joan.
The Funeral Service for Pat will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Lakeshore Baptist Church, with Pastor Nate Birkholz officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions in memory of Pat may be made to the Grand Haven Salvation Army or Lakeshore Baptist Church.
