Patricia "Pat" Ann Marie Blanchard, age 89, of Grand Haven, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Grand Pines Assisted Living Center in Grand Haven, MI. She was born on July 25, 1936, in Muskegon, MI, to the late Hamel and Anna (Castenholz) Ryan. Pat married Meredith "Doc" Blanchard on July 1, 1955, in Muskegon, MI. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2001, after 45 years of marriage.
Pat graduated from Muskegon High School and began her career as a teller at a local bank. She then worked for a time at Reichardt's Gift Store, and she also owned and operated a ceramics shop in Spring Lake for a time, sharing her creativity with others. She then dedicated 25 years to North Ottawa Community Hospital in the billing department from which she retired.
Pat was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church of the Dunes. She was a former member of the Grand Haven Area Jaycees, Grand Haven Eagles Aerie #925 Auxiliary, and member of the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post 28 Auxiliary.
Pat found joy in camping with family and friends and took pride in her cross-stitching and the beautiful rose garden she cultivated at home.
Pat is survived by her three children: Martin (Janet) Blanchard, Barbara Blanchard, and Susan (Curt) Theune; grandchildren: Jonathon (Ingrid) Boyce, Jaclyn (Adam) Suchecki, Anna Theune, and Scott Theune; great-grandchildren: Quinn Suchecki, Caroline Suchecki, Margaret Suchecki, and Mari Boyce; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Meredith Blanchard; sister, Mary Hendrickson; and brother, Thomas Ryan.
The Memorial Service for Pat will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at First Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Kristine Aragon Bruce officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the United Methodist Church of the Dunes Remembrance Garden at a later date.
