Pamela Jean Button, age 77, of Grand Haven passed away at home on Sunday, December 15, 2024, after a brief illness. Pam was born on November 30, 1947, in Muskegon to the late of Kenneth and Alice (Hekkema) Hardy. Pam graduated from Grand Haven High School and served as a prep cook at many local favorite restaurants, such as Carousel Donut Shop, Star Light Lanes, and the Rendezvous. She also worked as a nurse’s aide in several local facilities.
Pam loved to knit, crochet, cross stitch, and quilt, and she was a member of the Lighthouse Guild. She was also the former Miss Coast Guard Queen of 1967.
Pam was a collector of all things and was often busy picking up bags of things around town. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Pam is survived by her husband Robert, whom she married in 1980; her two children, Jodi Houghton and Christina Lyn (Tim) Kuiper; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Sheila Hardy; brother, Ken “Mike” Hardy; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Cathy Carter; and father-in-law, Calvin Button.
The memorial service for Pam will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Klaassen Family Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Pycraft officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday.
