Norman G. Brown, age 80 of Spring Lake, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at home. He was born on January 29, 1940 in Grand Haven to Grieg and Edna (Felcher) Brown and married Kay Koster in 1964 in Grand Haven.
Norm graduated from Grand Haven High School and went on to serve our country in the US Air Force from 1958 to 1962. He served for many years for the Michigan State Police as a Trooper and was then promoted to Detective and Sergeant, prior to his retirement. Norm and Kay enjoyed winter months in Florida visiting with friends. Norm especially loved talking and telling his stories to friends and family.
Norm is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kay Brown; two sons, Jeffrey (Tanja) Brown of Hawaii, and Michael Brown of Muskegon; four grandchildren, Caleb, Trinity, Serenity, and Jade; sister, Ednarae (Gerald) Huttenga of Hudsonville; two brothers, Gerald (Joy) Brown of North Carolina and Richard (Susan) Brown of Grosse Isle.
The family would like to thank friends and family for the thoughts and prayers extended to them at this time. Also, thank you to the staff, doctors, nurses, and aides from Harbor Hospice that helped make Norm comfortable in his last days.
In accordance with his wishes there will be no services, cremation only.
