Norma Jean (Mistretta) Patton

Norma Jean Patton, age 92 of Grand Haven, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Lakeshore Assisted Living. She was born on June 2, 1930 in Grand Haven, MI, to the late Jack and Dorothy (Gardner) Mistretta. Norma married H. Wayne Patton on February 2, 1997 in Arizona. He preceded her in death in 2005.

Norma graduated from Grand Haven High School and worked for Nemco Inc. for many years. She was a long-time member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she was a former choir member, and was in charge of the church newsletter & bulletin.

Norma enjoyed making prayer shawls, and also making baby bibs for the local Pregnancy Center. In her younger years, she was an avid walker and especially enjoyed line-dancing.

Norma is lovingly remembered and missed by her daughter, Cynthia (Randel) O’Beirne of Grand Haven; her son, Rick (Linda) Rouwhorst of Muskegon; her four grandchildren: Heather (Matt) Smith, Roxanne (Derik) Geddes, Carla (Travis) Koopman, and Curt (Emily) Rouwhorst; nine great-grandchildren: Alicia, Hannah, and Emily Smith, Reese, Dawson, and Vivian Geddes, Niles Koopman, and Alexis and Aubrey Rouwhorst ; two step-children, Susan (Tom) Hamlin and Larry (Lynne) Patton; step-grandchildren, Randy, Cindy, and Lori; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Nancy Zarndt and Mary Mistretta; her brother, Ronald Mistretta; and the father of her children, Robert Rouwhorst.

The Funeral Service for Norma will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held just prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Lakeshore Assisted Living Homes or Hospice of North Ottawa Community.
