Nancy Ruth Tickner, age 71 of West Olive, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021 at home. She was born on December 22, 1949 in Detroit, MI to the late George Bourquin and Violet Thomas. Nancy married Robert Tickner on August 23, 1980 in Grand Haven. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2006 after 25 years of marriage.
Nancy graduated from Lansing High School and went on to work as a nurse’s aide in nursing homes for many years. She was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 2326 and American Legion Post 28 Auxiliaries, and enjoyed watching old television shows, especially "Three’s Company" and the "Price is Right." Nancy also loved to bake, read, and work on crossword and word search puzzles.
Nancy is survived by her brother, David Esch of Muskegon; her two sisters, Beverly Bartlett of Chesterfield, MI and Patricia “Patty” Thomas-Mink of Phoenix, AZ; her half-sister, Kathy (John) Zesiger of Okanogan, WA; her niece and nephews, Robert (Rebecca) Brown, Autumn Brown, and Steven Brown; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; and two brothers, Richard and Steven Bourquin.
Private family services will be held. Memorial Contributions may be made to Harbor Humane Society.
