Nancy L. Nagtzaam, age 81, of Grand Haven, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Robbinswood Assisted Living. She was born on October 19, 1943, in Grand Haven, MI, to the late Richard and Winifred (Buikema) Nagtzaam.
Nancy graduated from Grand Haven High School and then received her bachelor's degree from Ferris State College. She lived and worked in Ludington as a Dental Hygienist for 46 years before her retirement. Nancy also taught dental hygienist classes at Ferris State University.
Nancy was a member of First Reformed Church in Grand Haven. In her younger years, she loved to travel, taking over 20 mission trips to Honduras through Casa De Esperanza, and was crowned the first Miss U.S. Coast Guard Queen in 1965.
Nancy enjoyed playing cards with friends, loved her dogs, and she especially loved spending time with family and friends.
Nancy will be lovingly remembered and missed by her two sisters, Karen Reenders and Wendy (Terry) Tilley; nephews: Craig (Elizabeth) Reenders, Kevin (Jeanne) Reenders, Chad Reenders, Travis (Mandy) Tilley; nieces: Kristan (Dean) Mulder, Karen S. Reenders, Brandi Angelosanto, Ashton (David) Willoughby; and 19 great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her nephew, Keith Reenders; and brother-in-law, Dean Reenders.
Nancy's family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Robbinswood Assisted Living & Gentiva Hospice for their loving care of her.
The Memorial Service for Nancy will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at First Reformed Church with Pastor John Kenny officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery.
