Mona Marie Fye

Mona Marie Fye, age 66 of Grand Haven, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at home. She was born on July 6, 1956 in Burlington, Iowa to Dorothy Hazel Balzer and Charles William Fye. She moved to Grand Haven, MI, on January 5, 2004.

Mona loved and cared for everyone she met, and would do anything she could for anyone. When she came here, she and her best friend and caregiver, Patty traveled to quite a few places over the years.

Mona loved going to the Salvation Army’s Women's Camp and Senior Camp, and helped out with their Youth Camps. Mona also loved doing crafts, both at home, and at the Salvation Army Camp, and loved giving her creations to friends and her church family.

She always enjoyed going to the Salvation Army, but as she got older, and her health began to decline, she wasn’t able to get there as often as she would have liked to.

The family would like to thank Kimberly M., Vicki S., and Mona’s neighbor, Janice, for being there to assist Patty with Mona’s care.

Mona is lovingly remembered and missed by her best friend and caregiver, Patty Meredith; close friends, Vicki, Kimberly, and Janice; her church the Salvation Army family; loving niece, Renee; and half-brother, Jerry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; many aunts and uncles; her best friend, Nina; and many close friends.

A Memorial Service for Mona may be held at a later date.
