Mina Ruth (Overzet) Gutierrez

Mina Ruth Gutierrez, age 82 of Grand Haven, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital. She was born on September 30, 1940 in Grand Haven, MI to the late Harry and Mina (Swierenga) Overzet. Mina married William “Willie” Gutierrez on October 4, 1958 in Grand Haven. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2015 after 56 years of happy marriage.

Mina was a lifelong resident of Grand Haven, and member of Christian Life Center of Spring Lake for many years. She loved to read, do yard work, and ride her bicycle in the warmer months.

Mina will be lovingly remembered and missed by her five children: daughter, Cathy (Greg) VanDyke; four sons, Woody, Jeffrey (Ellen), Benjamin (Annie), Andrew (Jennifer) Gutierrez; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Marion (Leo) DeGram and Eunice Mednis; and her two brothers, Harold and Ralph (Nancy) Overzet.

A Memorial Visitation for Mina will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be at Grand Haven Township Lakeshore Cemetery.
