Matthew Pellegrom

Matthew Pellegrom, age 90, of Spring Lake, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at home. He was born on September 10, 1934, in Grand Haven, MI, to the late Nelson and Margaret (Rodgers) Pellegrom, Sr. Matthew married Joyce Elaine Watkins on July 23, 1982 in Las Vegas, NV. She preceded him in death on November 27, 2022, after 40 years of marriage. 

Matthew graduated from Grand Haven High School Class of 1952. He then went on to attend Michigan State University where he earned his bachelor's degree in banking. He spent his 30 year career working as a Senior Bank Examiner for FDIC until his retirement in 1990.

Matthew was a proud member of the Grand Haven Son's of the American Legion, Charles A. Conklin Post 28 and the Association of Michigan Bank Examiners. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf and tennis, and had a knack for photography.

Matthew will be forever remembered and missed by his daughter, Sue (Kraig) Snyder of Menominee, MI; his two sons, Michael (Robin) Pellegrom of Roswell, GA, and Joe (Anna) Pellegrom of Rockford, MI; four grandchildren: Michelle Snyder, Max and Matthew Pellegrom, and Jodi Pellegrom; four great-grandchildren: Aubrey Pellegrom, Oliver and Charlie Patrick, and Pierce Pellegrom; and sisters-in-law, Sally Ann Pellegrom and Joyce Pellegrom Brand.

He was preceded in death by his three brothers: Rodger, David, and Nelson Pellegrom, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Mary Pellegrom.
